an idiot abroad

So, it’s a Monday morning. You know the feelings…..wandering where the weekend went, pressing the snooze on the alarm for a sixth time – but no matter what you do it’s still Monday morning and it’s time for work.

My Monday morning has been slightly different. I’ve touched down safe and well in Thailand, not had my debit card blocked and am just waiting for ‘Nappark’ to allow me to check in to my ‘Napspace’. The hostel I have choose to start at in Bangkok has received rave reviews on the net for being slightly different to other dormitory hostels. The dorm rooms have curtains round the bed allowing you to have that extra bit of privacy from that room mate coming in late at night from a bar in neighbouring Khao San Road. It also has an open living plan area which is like a big bed in itself – to be honest I could easily crash out for the afternoon right here and now after the last week.

The reason i’m already blogging? Well, for starters as trustworthy as this place seems, i’m not going to leave my backpack unattended on my first day. The main reason though is that seconds after we came into the hostel it started pissing down. I’ve arrived in Thailand towards the end of their rain season, so i’m not overly surprised. To be honest, i’m so tired a nice chill out is exactly what is needed.

Enjoy your Monday morning as much as me!

Hi Rich welcome to the ‘we now like mondays club’ No rain for us, but pretty overcast as we made our way from Phonsavan to Vang Vieng in Laos. Stunning scenery and not a spreadsheet in sight – Bliss. Hope to catch you in PP

    Have fun

Glad you arrived safe matey – sorry it’s raining, just like being back here! You’ll be glad to hear that we won the Ryder Cup but a point – it was a bit tense this afternoon as the yanks began to catch up.
    Bon Voyage!
